The Digital Reader

There has been so much coverage on this that I almost didn’t write this post. I’m just going to keep it to a short summary.

We know:

• Apple has its own ebookstore
• ebooks will be in Epub
• the ebookstore won’t be available everywhere
• Adobe did not provide the DRM
• TeleRead is reporting that Kobo is developing a new app just for the iPad
• eBookNewser is reporting that Coursesmart is developing a new app just for the iPad

We don’t know:

• the actual prices of the ebooks
• the actual reading abilities
• if Apple’s ebooks have DRM
• if other ebook apps will be allowed on the iPad
