The Jetbook development community (it’s one guy who goes by the username gr8npwrfl) has announced that Android is running on the Jetbook. He hasn’t posted any pictures yet. From MobileRead:
I made a major breakthrough today !!
I got the signon screen up and running on the jetbook running Android 2.0 !
Now I have to figure how to get the multi-touch touchscreen working then we are styling. I have no way to input commands to the jetbook at this time. I am digging into the usb driver for the dragonball processor that is used in the jetbook to see if I can turn on the USB host, If I can get that running I will be able to control HID devices like keyboards and mice.
The Ectaco Jetbook is a dedicated ebook reader with a 5″ low power LCD screen. It’s available online with a retail of $179 from Fry’s, Newegg, and others. I have one myself; it’s a very nice basic ebook reader, though limited in features.
