Sorry, sometimes I can’t help myself.
I just came across a Quebec company with a new slate PC. The ExoPC Slate (that’s really the product name) has a 8.9 screen and runs Win7. It has all the features expected on a slate that the iPad doesn’t have: USB host, ethernet, webcam,VGA, headphones, microphones, and more. ExoPC has a UI that runs on top of Win7 that (when finished) will enable multi-touch. At this point they’re only selling pre-production units for $780 (Canadian). The retail price is expected to be much less than the current price.

The Archos 9 seems like it is similar and only costs $549 US.
