APC is reporting that Samsung has announced that 4 e-reader models (a 5″, two 6″, & a 9.7″) will be released in Australia this fall. I’m jealous; at this point we don’t know for sure that all 4 models will be available in the US. Also, Samsung has previously announced that they would be selling all 4 e-reader models in Europe, and they have already started selling them in South Korea.

Just as well, because there’s precious little else in the Australian market at the moment – no Sony readers at all – and what there is here is horrendously overpriced.
For example, the Bebook Neo/Onyx Boox (it’s the same hardware) can be had for 340 USD in the States. In Australia, that will be 569 AUD (523 USD) please.
