The Wall Street Journal is reporting that B&N plans to start advertising the Nook on television.
A new Barnes & Noble ad airing Thursday shows a young girl reading the popular children’s book “Where the Wild Things Are” and other titles as she grows up. The ad ends with a woman sitting on the beach using her Nook. “Take your story wherever you want it to go,” a voiceover says.
The company won’t disclose how much it’s spending but the pitch, which also includes radio, print and Internet ads, will air during pricey TV real estate such as “American Idol.”
This is a very good idea. The e-reader market is getting crowded.
