Update: I just heard back from PW, and I was wrong. They had to move the site ASAP, and this was overlooked until it was too late to fix. I was told the feeds will go back up some time in the future, but they will be behind a registration wall.
I wanted to give everyone this heads up.
I noticed today that Publisher’s Weekly has not posted any new content to any of RSS feeds since Monday 3 May (at least, the ones that I follow). I would guess that this has something to do with the recent sale of the magazine. I’ve looked at the PW website, and the new design plus lack of any mention of RSS leads me to think this was deliberate.
Do you what really bugs me? They didn’t announce that they were killing the RSS feeds. This probably cost them a lot of the people who used them. I, for one, didn’t think to look for their content because I’m used to it showing up automatically. I used to visit the PW website 2 or 3 times a day because of the RSS feed. For the past week and a half I haven’t gone to their site at all. This is probably true for a lot of the people who followed the RSS feeds.
BTW, it looks like much of the feed content is available as email newsletters. You can sign up on their website.
