I came across this new e-reader from Yanko Designs. As you can see, it’s a flexible screen e-reader that rolls up into a tube when not in use.
I’m not sure it qualifies as a new design, though. I’ve seen a similar design used as a prop in an SF movie. I’m pretty sure that movie was Red Planet, but I could be wrong.

It kind of reminds me of the late Readius by Polymer Vision. It was more of a fold-able screen than roll-able. A 115 gram shirt-pocket e-reader with a 5″ screen and 3G connectivity to RSS and Email was a pretty good concept. They even had working prototypes.
