This is a rather belated announcement, but better late than never. Foxit revealed their second e-reader, the eSlick PS, a couple weeks ago. I recognize the hardware, and it’s a PageOne by Next Papyrus. I’ve mentioned this e-reader before (here and here).
There is no word yet on the price or release date, but I do know that this launch is just for the Asian market. The announcement for the US market will be coming in July. Since Foxit writes their own PDF software, we can obviously conclude that they will be using it on the eSlick. According to my source, format support will include PDF, Epub, and TXT. I don’t have any information on whether the eSlick PS will have eReader support like the original eSlick. My guess is that it probably will not.
Here are the tech specs for the PageOne:
- 6″ E-ink screen
- 2GB Flash
- microSDHC card slot
- 5 buttons
- 24 pin extension port
- 200g weight
- headphones
I found a clip on Youtube that show the eSlick PS. It was shot at the press event by Techbang, a Taiwanese tech blog.

Footnote: Unfortunately, Foxt has refused to give me any information on the eSlick PS. I would especially like to highlight the unprofessional behavior of Alex Alexander. He has ignored my emails, given me the brush off, and then flat out refused to send me any information.
All of the images, the Youtube clip, and any other information in this post was gathered in spite of Foxit. Thanks, guys, for giving everyone an example of how not to work with the press.
