The AP are reporting that Borders will sell Paperchase, the stationary supply company, for $31m. borders bought PaperChase for $24.1m back in 2004.
This is good news. I never did understand why Borders, who as a retailer operate a horizontal business wanted to buy a vertical. They don’t own any of their other suppliers, do they? (Aside from the off brand publishing, that is.)
