Medion e-reader video
July 30th, 2010 · 1 Comment · hardware news, video
A couple weeks ago I found a new e-reader from Medion. I hadn’t seen it before, which makes it something of a rarity. Today I found this video that was shot at IFA-Berlin where the new e-reader was on display. It’s in German and the e-reader is only a dummy, but it’s still worth watching.
Could Sony drop out of the e-reader price war?
July 30th, 2010 · 4 Comments · hardware rumors
ReadWriteWeb got their hands on a statement from Sony, and that’s certainly one way to interpret it: “Pricing is one consideration in the dedicated reading device marketplace, but Sony won’t sacrifice the quality and design we’re bringing book lovers to lay claim to the cheapest eReader,” said Phil Lubell, VP of Digital Reading at Sony [...]

July 29th, 2010 · 6 Comments · hardware news
CrunchGear has more information on the Copia e-readers we saw in the WSJ. Copia have totally revamped their lineup. Fortunately, I’ve seen the hardware before. An e-reader with the same image popped up on JCPenney’s website back in November. That e-reader had the [...]

Txtr launch Android app
July 29th, 2010 · No Comments · software news
Last month Txtr very quietly announced that they’ve released an Android app. Like their iPhone app, txtr4Androidis a rather basic reading app. I’ve used the iPhone app and I was extremely underwhelmed. You have 4 font size choices and some annotation abilities. The real value in these apps is that they tie in to txtr’s [...]
