Sony Insider are reporting that they’ve been told Sony will introduce 2 new e-readers soon. The model numbers are going to be PRS-350 and PRS-650, and they’re supposed to be updated versions of the current e-readers.
Details are sparse, but SI reports that the screen sizes won’t change and that the new models should have more Flash storage. The PRS-650 might also have Wifi or 3G. And both new devices should have a new UI.

I sincerely hope that the 350 will have an SD card. Without an SD card it will be last year’s model. And heck, the 650 is also last year’s model; that’s when they should have released it (assuming it has Wifi).
P.S. Now I understand what the Sony rep meant when he said that Sony would compete on quality, not price.

Hi Nate,
they say both will have touchscreen with note taking software and “improved contrast and faster page turns”. The point is: does “improved contrast” mean that they will have pearl screens? I think this thing will make the difference.
