I almost didn’t post on the new Nook Color today. Everyone else already has so it’s not worth my time.
But then I found this demo video. The new NC has some impressive features. For one thing, it has a new reading app (it’s not using the Android Nook app).

Almost… They almost nailed it.
But with no physical page turn buttons I will pass despite that oh-so-sweet screen.
(And I do like the notch.)
Now to see if Amazon gets it right on their Android device.
Mine is already ordered. Looks like what I’ve been waiting for. I guess we shall see when my review is done.
Me, too.
If I look at what I’ve seen so far, as mostly an LCD reading device with some extra features, this is so close to perfect. I’m betting performance will be slower than the video suggests but I’m willing to put up with that. It will at least hold me over until next year when more of these things mature. Maybe even the Playbook. Until then, $249 seems reasonable to tide me over. It would be much better if it was around $200. Two years ago when I predicted these things were coming, many people scoffed, well except you Nate. You seem to be as interested in the different possibilities of reading as much as I was back then (and not dedicated to eink). Anyhow, I know many folks still think eink is the best way to read, but I’m just happy this prediction came true and these things are rolling out in the dozens.
Maybe it is just me but it is an android tablet… and from looking at the videos on Endgadget looks like it looks laggy.
The price is not half bad though
