Now this is a strange one to call a e-reader. The Odys Genesis is an Android tablet based on a 8.4″ LCD screen. It has a 600MHz CPU, 4GB Flash, Wifi, a SD card slot, and runs v2.1. I’m still looking for an official spec sheet, so I don’t know what type of touchscreen it has or if it has speakers.
Odys, a German consumer electronics company, is said to be launching the Genesis next week with a retail of 279€. This will be their 3rd e-reader.
I wouldn’t get too excited about the dual core CPU. Just about all mobile devices have multi-core CPUs these days. That’s what happens when you move a lot of functions on to a single chip.

A 60MHz CPU sure isn’t going to get much done on an Android pad.
(Even 600MHz isn’t going to do much at *that* price.)
A 60 MHz CPU must sell for 27.9 Euros, not 279. Then it will be fair.
Thanks. I don’t know where that extra zero went.
