Last week I posted my first open post and it seemed to go rather well. So I’m going to make a habit of the open post every Friday. (I would have posted this yesterday but I got distracted by the free Wired app and I forgot.)

Got a question? Ask.

i know that google probably wont do this due to their Microsoft like approach of no physical devices do they sell themselves that runs their operating system.
but hypothetically how awesome do you think an ebook reader would be if google themselves came out with one to promote their google books site just like kindle and the rest.
i know there’s a billion and one android based eBooks but..the likelihood that if they did do something like this it would be running on at least 2.3 and possibly 3 and at a price comparable to the nook color. and the added fact that it would be almost guaranteed android market support from day 1 w/o hacks.
i bet it would be a big hit. then again it could piss off all the smaller companies that are crawling over each other to be a top android device.
would be great for the customers though lol.

If I understand Microsoft’s OEM policies correctly, I could sell my operating system disk legally as long as I include a piece of hardware with the sale…
This started me thinking about how a similar policy would apply in the Ebook world. Lets say that I have some books I digitized to read on my kindle. May I include the Ebook version of the book (free of charge of course) when I sell the physical copy of the book?

Surprised you didn’t mention the Kindle “with Special Offers” which could be viewed as the much-discussed free Kindle. The initial offers are pretty tempting and total well over the cost.
