Following only a day after the Pubit Pro trademark, Barnes & Noble filed for a new trademark which just showed up today. Here’s what it covers:
Web portal services in the nature of providing a web-based system and online portal for users to remotely manage, administer and control electronic readers, handheld and computer devices, data, digital media, software applications and electronic publications, namely, books, e-books, magazines, newspapers, text and images
Curiously enough, they also own the URL www.MyNook.com. Right now it redirects to the B&N homepage, but clearly they intend to use it as a portal. My guess is that it will function similar to kindle.amazon.com.
