July 27th, 2011 by Nate Hoffelder · 2 Comments · hardware news

OfficeMax announced earlier today that thy would soon have the Barnes & Noble Nook in stores. Starting Saturday, you’ll be able to find the Nook Touch and the NookColor in more than 1k retail stores across the US. The price will be the same retail as B&N, and they will have accessories.

And hot on the heels of the Nook news comes this little bit about the Kindle. Toys-R-Us will have the Kindle Wifi, 3G, and Kindeal Wifi in stores on Sunday with accessories. If you buy one during the first week you will also get a $10 Toys-R-Us gift card (while supplies last).

This is good. I bought my Kindle without ever having it in my hands which is a leap of faith. I confess I did try a Nook at B&N so I had some idea what one looked and worked like.

(Don’t like touch screen so went with Kindle.)
