Today i successfully defended my crown as an expert in breaking the unbreakable.
I’ve downloaded and installed the latest version of Kindle 4 PC and it still doesn’t work for me. It still crashes on start-up. That’s now closing on 3 weeks that I’ve been unable to upgrade.
On the other hand, it’s not that big of a deal. I already have an older install file so I’ll just downgrade again. BTW, Amazon told me that I was the only one with this issue. Is anyone else having trouble?
Update: There’s now a growing list of people over on MobileRead who are also having trouble with the latest update.
Second Update: And Andrys of KindleWorld pointed me at a number of complaints over on the official Kindle forums.

Just downloaded it and it works fine on my (kinda old XP) PC. I think it probably is something with your machine or there’d be a fuss over on the Mobileread forums.

That’s interesting. I’ve not written about it because it wasn’t announced AND people have been reporting having problems with it and going back to an earlier edition. Thought I’d give it time.
