But you’re going to need to have a business account before you can buy one.
I’ve just read a message posted over on the Fatwallet forums. The poster reports that he bought HP’s cancelled 10″ tablet at the clearance price. I cannot see the page he ordered from (no login info), so I don’t know for sure if it’s available. But it could be.
That’s the only deal I know of today (Wednesday) other than the scalpers on Ebay and Amazon. But I am keeping my eye out for other deals.

have you gotten any word from onsale weather your order was canceled yet?
i still havent gotten any emails saying its canceled ordered it around 5:40est on sunday. amazon’s order account page says
Shipment 1 of 1
Shipping Soon
Delivery Estimate: August 25, 2011 – August 30, 2011
but my banking account doesnt register a sale.
guess i’ll have to wait and see if i ever get a tracking number
but i wonder now weather i’ll be cut off the 10k list since i didnt choose any form of express shipping
I haven’t, no.
All sold out again.
I went through the process of creating a business account, only to discover that they do not have any in stock. According to the account rep, they sold 238% of their stock, so anything they get in will go to filling orders that were placed but for which they do not have stock right now…
Okay, now this is one I shouldn’t have posted. Sorry.
‘sok. I thought I was one of the few who actually had one from B&N because my order still showed as in process at 10 pm last night. But they canceled it on me overnight… without notifying me.
This is why people should go back to shopping in stores.
Well, B&N stepped up. I got this email a little while ago and have loaded the egift card into my B&N account and the gift card I did use to try to buy an HP tablet was also refilled.

Dear Michael,
This past weekend, BN.com experienced a technical inventory error for the HP TouchPad combined with an unprecedented customer demand for its newly discounted price. Unfortunately, this generated more customer orders than we had inventory, resulting in our cancelling some customer orders, including yours, as we notified you earlier this week. If there was a pending authorization against your debit or credit card for the order, we have worked to quickly reverse that no later than today. You will not be charged for this order.
I want to take this opportunity to offer our sincere apology to you as a valued customer of BN.com. We care deeply about serving our customers, and in an expression of our commitment to you please accept the $20 Barnes & Noble eGift Card below for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The card can be used for any merchandise available at BN.com or in any of our bookstores.
We look forward to serving you again in the future.
Sincerely,
John Foley
President, BN.com
Congrats. Nice that they’re taking care of their Nook customers at least. I wrote ‘em a little note hoping for a something similar, but got bubkis (but I didn’t have an account with them).
How did you place the order without an account?
If you used a fake e-mail account, then your gift card is in the fake e-mail account.
I didn’t use a fake email, just ordered and declined setting up an account (which I now regret), which was an option it gave. I sent a complaint about them cancelling the order yesterday. Today I got another “sorry” email, but no gift certificate.
I assume you have a nook or are a long term customer and they want to keep you happy.
The HP touch would have been my first online order from them other than one time getting a book ordered to my house from the store because they had no copies in stock.
