I saw a comment on Twitter today about this, and it turned out to be true.
I don’t know when the listing went up, but you can now buy a refurbed Kindle Wifi from Amazon.co.uk. Asking price is £68, and that’s over a third off the price of a new one (£111). The Brits will actually be getting a bigger discount than the US. Of course, the UK price was already much more expensive than the US price, so that discount still results in a higher price than the US refurb.
The Kindle 3G is also listed, and it’s going for £99.
Update: One reader was kind enough to provide some background:
These have been available for a few weeks, but last time I looked (Wednesday morning when I failed to buy a touchpad) the prices were £80 and (I think) £116.

With the drop in price, it might be time to start thinking about replacing my old K2 now
Thanks!
