I’ve just come across a hilarious Twitter account that’s owned by the Oxford Street branch of Waterstones, a UK based bookstore chain. Be prepared to spend a lot of time today as you read their past satirical tweets.
Earlier this week, Google celebrated the birthday of Jorge Luis Borges, an Argentinian author and translator, by honoring him with a Google Doodle. This particular bookstore honored him by (as the story goes) rebuilding their shop into “an infinite series of connected hexagonal rooms that contains all possible books”.
It goes on to include tweets like:
Some of the books I’ve stumbled upon are amazing. A Lonely Planet Guide to Tlon, a bizarre and barely complete copy of Menard’s Quixote.
You can find the complete story, which is spread across a day’s worth of tweets, on Storify. After you read that one you might want to check out their other stories on Storify. All are very funny.
You know, these stories are actually a lot easier to follow on Storify than they are on Twitter, and that says something about twitter. If a third-party site can repackage the same content and produce a more usable product, don’t you think Twitter should add that feature?

It is an interesting feed but in no way as good as the original @betfairpoker account which it has clearly ripped off.
I’ve looked over that account and I cannot see that one rips off the other.
