My post earlier today on Sigil inspired me to go check on the status of calibre, the open-source ebook library app. There’s no major updates this week, but since it’s been some time since I last posted about calibre I thought this worth a post.
But there are a few changes. Along with the usual bug fixes, tweaks, and other improvements, calibre also added support for several Android phones, and that will make it easier to transfer ebooks.
Calibre is the leading ebook and e-reader management tool. It supports conversion from and to a wide variety of eBook formats. It will also assist you in organizing your ebook library and transferring them to your ebook reader (almost all are supported). It also now does a better job cleaning up downloaded HTML, showing covers, and sorting by author.
BTW, a few weeks back I posted about hamstersoft, calibre, and how the former pirated code from the latter. My follow up post seems to have vanished. Rest assured that the issue has been resolved. Everything is peachy-keen now.
