Last Thursday HP announced a special deal for TouchPad owners. For a limited time, a limited number of TP owners could download any of 6 free apps for the TouchPad. HP underestimated the demand, and that offer ran out in less than 12 hours, much to my dismay.
Now I have some good news for you. HP had planned to do another 6-pack in September, and they moved it up to today. You can now get 6 more free apps for the TouchPad (links at the end of the post). Like the last offer, this is only open to US and it has an upper limit on the number of freebies.
They didn’t include Glimpse, the app I wanted most. It allows you to have more than one window open at a time and that would have been the killer feature. Still 6 free apps are 6 free apps.
Anyone care to guess how quickly this offer will run out? I’d say that the Angry Birds Rio will go first.
Update: The offer ran out within a couple hours, according to one commenter. While I don’t know the exact time, a Twitter friend said it was gone within 4 hours.
