Woot has Samsung’s latest 5″ Android tablet on sale today, and while Woot rarely has a great price on gadgets, this sale is the exception.
The Samsung Galaxy S WiFi is a 5″ media player with 8GB Flash storage, a microSD card slot, Wifi/Bluetooth, a pair of camera (VGA & 3.2MP w/flash), mic/speaker/headphone jack, and FM Radio. It ships with quite a few apps as well as the Android Market. Basically you can look at the Galaxy S Wifi as a smartphone without the phone.
The Galaxy S Wifi was first unveiled back in February (video) at MWC, and it had all the gadget bloggers drooling.
This tablet is running Android v2.2 on a single core Samsung 1GHz Hummingbird CPU. Froyo is last year’s OS, and that initially turned me off. But then I saw the camera specs.
I’m seriously considering getting this so I can use it as a digital camera. This baby has a 3.2MP camera on the back and it even has a flash. While that’s not the highest resolution camera on Android tablets, it’s actually more than I need for most pictures.
Now, one thing I’ve noticed after watching Woot for a few months is that they don’t usually have great prices. Woot usually has good discounts, but rarely are the sale prices actually a great deal. Take the Viewsonic gTablet, for example. Woot was the first to sell it for the clearance price, but everyone else quickly followed suit.
Today’s sale price for the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 is good, but if you miss it don’t worry. You’ll see a similar price elsewhere in about a month.
Check out Samsung for complete specs , and if you’re still interested head on over to Woot.

SOLD OUT IN A FLASH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was never released to retail stores in the US, dammit. I was waiting for it. J&R even briefly had a leaked listing. After that was pulled, it never appeared again.
