I know it’s a little odd to post a second deals post on a single day, but I’ve come across a couple more items I wanted to share as well as a couple that I am surprised to find still on the market.
Here’s a few items I found on sale on 18 October.
TigerDirect have the Viewsonic ViewBook VB730 for only $150 today. The price is avaialble via Ebay, but it’s not a terribly good deal. You can also find the VB730 on Amaozn for only $15 more.
I’ve also been tipped to a today only sale for the Delstar OpenBook . This is a basic 5″ ebook reader which launched last spring. It was never very good, but now it’s also cheap. On the plus side it also works as a basic media player.
I just found the original Nook on Buy.com for $90. It’s new and sold by Barnes & Noble. I’m not sure who’d want it, but clearly someone does.
And then there’s one e-reader that I’m including just for giggles. The old, old, Sony Pocket Edition is still available from Geeks.com. This is the one without the touchscreen or enough storage. It’s also refurbished.

Nook touch refurbished for $79 on Ebay.
I bought one and sent it back when this first came back. Only time I ever did that with n ebook reader. I kinda miss that Delstar even though it wasn’t that great. I remember that someone flashed it with the Telstar firmware and that made the margins a lot better. Is that true? Anyway for half the price, I’m getting it back. Welcome back to the pack.
Yeah, the Sony “deal” is a joke.
The hardware is way old but at the right price it could be a decent kid’s reader. But the right price is *not* $88.
Well, okay, maybe a Sony fan might think that is a deal…
Barnes and Noble has sold the Nook1 in it’s stores for 89 bucks since right after the last Kindle roll out.
Sorry for the consecutive posts, but it might be time for a 3rd Daily Deal– Now Barnes and Noble is selling refurb Nook Colors on their site and eBay for 149 and refurb Nook Touches both places for 79— that last one seems like one hell of a deal.
I was going to save the Nook Touch for tomorrow as a headline article, actually.
