Drop Test: Nook Tablet vs Kindle Fire (video)

November 21st, 2011 by Nate Hoffelder · 3 Comments · hardware news, video

Have you ever heard the term “test to destruction”? It refers to a testing process where you take a piece of equipment and beat the shit out of it until it breaks. Gizmoslip, a blog run by people even crazier than me, went TTD on the Nook Tablet and the Kindle Fire.

The start inside, dropping the KF and NT on carpet. Then they take it outside and gradually ratchet upĀ  the damage until the devices break.

TBH, I haven’t seen the end of the video. I can’t stand to see good gadgets be destroyed like this. It’s a waste.

Considering that bezel, I would have guessed the nook Tablet.

Well, the one thing I found interesting about video was that both devices would be difficult to use outdoors. A lot of screen reflection, something not seen on e-ink screens nor, based on the Mirasol videos you linked to in your article about the Korean device, on Mirasol screens. Definitely convinced me not to buy either the Kindle Fire or the Nook Tablet; I like to sit outside when the weaqther is nice and read..
