I’ve just gotten off the email with a PR rep for Sony. He confirmed that the price drop which had shown up at Tiger Direct yesterday was permanent. Sony has lopped $20 off the price of the Sony Reader Wifi, bringing the retail down to $129. Now things are going to get really competitive.
Just to round things up, this e-reader is now priced $20 less than the comparable Kindle, the K5 (Kindle Touch), which retails for $149. The Sony Reader Wifi is also now priced the same as the Kobo Touch and $30 more than the Nook Touch.

Yeah! Hopefully this will be reflected at Best Buy soon. I missed it the first time around but would love to pick this up for 20 bucks less.
The latest news here is that the price has gone up by €30… So, instead of €150 it’ll be €180…
Yes, it seems like Sony lets buyers in Europe pay for the price battle in the US.
Hi!
I’ve just checked on two French retailers’ web sites (darty.com and boulanger.fr), and the PRS-T1 is still priced at 150 € this morning in France.

Thank you Europeans!
