And the after Christmas sales continue. Woot is selling the 9.7″ Kindle DX today for just over half the regular retail. This is a refurbished model, but it also comes with Amazon usual warranty and customer service so that’s not a necessarily a bad thing.
But I’m not sure it’s worth getting as your main ebook reader. Right now it’s cheap, but it’s also not very capable. While it does support PDFs, it’s not very good at it.

Isn’t it time for a rumor, prediction, pontification regarding an updated DX model in the new year?
I don’t see it happening, no.
So you predict that the Kindle DX will be discontinued as soon as the stock runs out?
As sales slow down, yes.
But you said it is not a good deal, did you? I think it may be a good deal if there will not another big ereader with same price.
There won’t be another DX. The Kindle Fire Tablet (full size) would replace it since it could be released at $399 price point.
