Interesting, but I think in the third question from the bottom they missed something. Where is science fiction and fantasy? They might wedge it into general fiction or the Mystery/suspense categories, but I’m thinking people simply didn’t reply if that was the case and it threw the numbers/ percentages off there.

Ditto Jeffrey Smith! Was that readership just too small a number to be included on the chart or what?

Considering one of the earliest adopters of ebooks was BAEN Books which is only Science fiction/fantasy and their fan base is one of the biggest sets of ebook/ereader users I highly doubt it. I think it was just plain they didn’t ask about the genre. While BAEN is one of the smaller print publishers I believe they probably sell more ebooks through their site bookstore then some of the big boys sell through Amazon.

That’s a completely useless infographic.

The first should be called "who reads". There’s no significant difference between men and women. And it is completely useless stat because most (roughly 75%) of all books, e and otherwise, are bought by 30% of the population. I would rather know the breakdown for those folks.

The second is "educated folks read more". Well that was news flash, I dunno, never!Because if anything, the only news is when less educated folks read more.

Hard to top No. 2, but No. 3 is "rich folk have more stuff". Uh, that’s kinda the definition of rich folk.

Then we get the ebook folks read a little more, but just the same way as the print folks. Is that not blindingly obvious to everyone on the planet? The more you read, the better an investment an ereader is.

Next we get a graphic that leaves out the only thing that might be meaningful about the question and that is how big are the groups (ebook readers vs. print readers). Oh, and the graphic is deliberately misleading unless the two groups are exactly the same size.

And finally we get more evidence that ebook readers are just print readers, only more so.

What a freaking waste of pixels.
