Amazon expanded their empire today. They’ve just released a new app for Audible that is designed for the iPad, aka that 3 year old tablet no one buys.
What’s even more amazing is that Amazon promises this app will support the iPad 2 and even support the original iPad. Gosh golly Gee!
You can find the app in iTunes.

This certainly is bizarre because they’ve had a very nice app for the iTouch and iPhone for at least a year. I’ve had it on both of mine since inception. I don’t have an iPad but wonder if the app for the iTouch didn’t run on the iPad, it just wasn’t specifically designed for it. It’s been on my Android tablet for equally as long.
Yes, the Audible iPhone app works on the iPad.
Yes, what a bizarre post about a “new release” of an iPad app for the 3-year-old “tablet that no one buys.” Really? The app has been out for at least 3 years and in January 2013 Apple reported having sold a record 22.9 million iPads during the quarter, compared to 15.4 million in the year-ago quarter. That’s a lot of nobodies.
Actually, there’s an official press release out today that says the iPad app is new (even though the iPhone app worked on the iPad just fine all this time).
