As you can see, Teclast has a new 5″ e-reader. This one has a 5″ LCD screen. From what I can tell, it’s the same hardware as the Delstar Openbook, which is available in the US.

There’s a World Ebook Fair going on right now in Shenzhen China. (Yes, it’s killing me that I couldn’t go.) One of my sources has an exclusive shot of the Teclast K9 (at left).
It has a 6″ E-ink screen on top, and a 3.6″ 480×272 LCD below. It’s locked in a display case, so there is no word on how well it works.

The House of DAP, a web retailer, has posted a video of the recently announced Teclast K3. Now that we can see it in action, I have to say I’m impressed by the design.
BTW, the K3 was designed by Gajah International as the W960. Here is the PDF spec sheet.
New ebook reader out of Taiwan- Teclast K6
February 26th, 2010 · hardware news, teclast
Teclast have just announced their second ebook reader. The K6 has a 6″ E-ink screen, and is reported to be more capable than Taipower’s first e-reader, the K3. There is no word yet on price or availability, but one company spokesman has said that the timetable is “soon”.
It has the page turn buttons on both sides of the screen, a d-pad and 15 keys below the screen. I can’t find anything on the functions assigned to those buttons, or any other technical information. But the Taipower rep said it’s supposed to share the K3′s ultra thin design.
Introducing the Teclast K3
January 27th, 2010 · hardware news, teclast
Teclast just announced an ebook reader. The K3 has a 6″ E-ink screen, 4GB storage, accelerometer, and (based on the formats listed) uses FBReader for reading software. The expected retail price is 1499 yuan (about $220). The K3 also has broad support for audio formats as well as TTS and recording capability.
You know, I think the K3 looks a lot like the Mustek ebook reader I posted yesterday.
