1SaleaDay has the Augen Genbook 108 on sale right now. You have 7 more hours to buy this netbook. According to the old K-mart listing, this netbook is running Android v2.1. on an 800MHz CPU. That’s decent but not spectacular. It also has Wifi, a SD card slot, ethernet, and 2GB Flash.I would assume it [...]

Prestigio to launch new 10″ Android tablet MultiPad 7100C
March 10th, 2011 · 2 Comments · hardware news
Yesterday Prestigio, a consumer electronics company, unveiled their latest tablet. The MultiPad 7100C has a 10″ (1024×600) capacitive touchscreen, and it’s running Android v2.2 on a 1GHz CPU. It looks to me like this is a Rockchip design, but I’m only guessing here. It also has Wifi, Bluetooth, a VGA camera on the front, 8GB [...]
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 hits the FCC
March 7th, 2011 · 3 Comments · fcc, hardware news
Samsung new 10″ Android tablet cleared the FCC last week. Unfortunately for us, almost everything has been concealed. All I have to show you is this diagram of the back of the Tab 10. BTW, when I first reported this tablet, I (and a bunch of other tech blogs) called it the Galaxy Tab 2. [...]
Why I’m Sticking with iPad 1.0
March 7th, 2011 · 5 Comments · opinion, video
I couldn’t be happier about Apple’s iPad 2 announcement. I was worried they were going to show so many killer features I’d have to spend at least $500 upgrading. Whew. Thankfully for me and my bank account, I consider this new product more like iPad 1.1 than iPad 2. Thinner? Nice. Dual cameras? Don’t need [...]

I found some more info in the Archos tablets that cleared the FCC this week. Charbax got some facetime with Archos’ newest tablet. It does have a 10″ screen, like I though, and the resolution is 1024×600. It’s going to ship with a resistive touchscreen, but a later model should ship about April with a [...]
Archos 10″, 8″ Arnova tablets clear the FCC
February 23rd, 2011 · No Comments · fcc, hardware news
Archos tried to sneak a pair of tablets by me yesterday. Unfortunately for us, Archos hid all the interesting details. All we know about the 10″ tablet is that it exists, the model number is A10HT-ARTo2, and it has a speaker and Wifi. The 8″ tablet, otoh, looks to be the same tablet that popped [...]
Samsung to unveil a 10″ Galaxy Tab later today
February 12th, 2011 · 1 Comment · hardware news
The hot story of the past couple days has been Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, a 10.1″ Android tablet. Apparently Samsung listened to all the naysayers who said a 7″ screen is too small. A fair number of details have leaked over the past couple days, but I decided to wait. I’m posting the story now [...]

Top 10 literary Youtube videos of 2010
January 6th, 2011 · No Comments · humor
EvilWylie put together this list of the 10 funniest literary videos posted to Youtube in 2010. Several of the movies are still hilarious even on the 4th or 5th time through. The Cooksource Downfall parody still makes me laugh. But I think he missed one, though. The “new spice guy” should have been included.
