It hasn’t even been released yet, and Libre.de already lowered the price. You can no get the Wifi equipped LumiRead for 179 Euros, and the 3G model for 229 Euros. It still cost too much, IMO. Libre.de via Buch Report

I would bet that we are going to see them at CES 2011. Digitimes are reporting: Acer is set to launch three tablet PC models featuring Android 3.0 in the first quarter of 2011. The respective models will feature a 7-inch panel, a 10-inch panel, and a 5-inch panel, with the 5-inch panel based device [...]

IFA hasn’t started yet, but I already have confirmation for a couple of the stories I’ve reported in the past week. It turns out that most all the details were correct. Asus and Txtr did sign a deal for Asus to use the Txtr ebookstore. It’s going to be launched in 4 countries. And the [...]

Digitimes didn’t say which device FET will be carrying, but [...]
Acer LumiRead e-reader hits the FCC
July 9th, 2010 · 1 Comment · hardware news
I’ve just come across the FCC paperwork for Acer’s e-reader. Acer had the pictures and user manual withheld, so there isn’t much new info there. But we do know that this was the Wifi model (not 3G). The picture at left is from SID Display week. No, we didn’t get a chance to play with [...]
Engadget got their hands on Acer’s other e-reader
June 1st, 2010 · No Comments · acer, hardware news
Engadget is at Computex in Taiwan right now, and they just found this Android tablet in the Qualcomm booth. There was no info on the screen size or device’s abilities, but it looks to me like this is just a 7″ Android tablet. The only really interesting detail is that it appears to have 2 [...]
Acer announces LumiRead e-reader Wifi, 3G, qwerty
May 27th, 2010 · 3 Comments · hardware news
Now this is a rather odd beast. Acer is late to the e-reader game with this Kindle clone. I has a 6″ E-ink screen, keyboard, Wifi (3G on a later model), 2B GB storage, a browser, and Acer has already signed with the B&N ebookstore in the US, and Libri.de in Germany. It also comes [...]
