Blackberry’s new tablet showed up on the FCC website today in 3 flavors: 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. But it appears to be only the Wifi models, and for some odd reason they decided to show all 3 models (there was no need). via FCC

Kobo app now out for the BlackBerry
February 15th, 2011 · 4 Comments · software news
Update: Apparently I misread the Kobo blog post, because based on the reviews this app has been available since at least March 2010. The only thing new is that another BlackBerry, the Torch, is now supported. Kobo just announced that their latest app was now available in the BlackBerry App Store. The Kobo BB app [...]

Kobo to be preloaded on the BlackBerry Playbook
September 30th, 2010 · No Comments · press release
I’m not even sure this qualifies as news. I pretty much assumed that Kobo’s reading app would come preloaded on all future BlackBerry devices after last week’s announcement that Kobo would be using BB Messenger Service. There is a demo video, though:

That was quick. But I don’t see anything in the press release on when the app will be available, though. From the press release: Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced that it will launch a Kindle app for the new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet computer. Customers can already enjoy the free Kindle app on their BlackBerry today. [...]

September 14th, 2010 · No Comments · hardware news
A friend on Twitter pointed me at a Canadian trademark filed by RIM for the word Surfbook. There are no hardware details in the paperwork, but do you really think it’s anything other than their tablet? Curiously enough, they didn’t file for a US trademark.

The Wall Street Journal has picked up on the Blackberry tablet rumor that we heard about last month from Boy Genius Report. From the way the WSJ article is written, it doesn’t sound like they actually have any more information than BGR. Heck, that might even be their source. RIM is also experimenting with a [...]
