Kobo iOS app updated

March 1st, 2011 · No Comments · software news

Michael Tamblyn just announced on the Kobo blog that Kobo’s iOS app hasn’t yet been pulled from iTunes. I kid. The new version is a minor update which does not include the in-app purchase option. You might be wondering why Apple allowed this update (without the IAP), but blocked the Sony app. I’m not sure [...]

How to find the Easter egg in the Kobo iPad app

January 19th, 2011 · 1 Comment · hardware rumors

I just came across one of Mike Cane’s old posts. He had found what might be an Easter egg in the Kobo iPad app. I’ve done some Googling, and I can’t find instructions on how to trigger the egg. It would be so cool if this were actually true. Does anyone know? Update: I found [...]

The original Kobo e-reader has been discontinued

January 15th, 2011 · 2 Comments · hardware news

I heard a rumor this week that the original (Wifi-less) Kobo e-reader was no longer available. I’ve been poking at this for a couple days now and I still can’t with absolute certainty that it’s been retired. Infact, just yesterday Jason Gamblen of Kobo denied the rumor. But I’m pretty sure it’s true.

They’ve already begun discussions with several publishers, distributors, [...]
