Today we got to see Microsoft apply that old chestnut: If you can’t innovate, sue. Microsoft just announced that they are suing Barnes & Noble, Foxconn, and Inventec for violating MS patents in making the Nook. According to Microsoft, “The patents at issue cover a range of functionality embodied in Android devices that are essential [...]

January 24th, 2011 · No Comments · hardware rumors
That’s what Engadget are reporting. They have a source within B&N (I wish I had one) that is telling them: We’ve received hard evidence from within B&N that the Nook is being discontinued, with sales to seemingly continue until stock is exhausted. The outfit is encouraging retail partners to not send out any “bulk requests” [...]

So B&N just sent out an email announcing that the Nook SDK is now available. Now any Android developer can port their app to the NookColor. There’s one detail I want you to notice. This is actually the NookColor SDK and it will not help you port Android apps to the Nook. Isn’t that interesting? [...]
New site lets you share your Nook ebooks – BookFriend.me
November 29th, 2010 · 3 Comments · ebookstore news
I just heard about this site today on Twitter. I’m sure this isn’t the only site that helps you share ebooks, but it’s the first that I’ve heard of. While I don’t have any ebooks from B&N, I do approve of the principle. NookLend.me Edit: They’ve had to change the name to Bookfriend.me But they [...]
