Charbax followed up the press conference video with some hands on time with the display samples.
I’m really impressed with the design on these e-readers. According to my sources, they were designed by Foxconn. They’re a big change from the previous Pocketbook models.

Pocketbook Education launched in Russia

Pocketbook, Sony dominate the Russian e-reader market

Research firm J’son & Partners Consulting have estimated that around 440k e-readers will be sold in 2010 in Russia. They just released a report in which they reported that sales in 2007 were measured in the thousands, around 60k e-readers were sold in 2008, and in 2009 about 250k devices were sold.

It may have taken them a little while, but Pocketbook have decided to join the e-reader price wars. They’ve cut the prices of all their models, and are also offering free shipping as a promotion for the 4th of July.
