Borders (US) dropped the price of the Kobo Wifi to $99

Borders sent out an email this morning announcing that the $99 sale price for the Kobo Wifi is now permanent. Unfortunately for anyone not in the US, no other retailer has followed suit. PWC have released the results of a study today that summarizes the current state of the ebook and e-reader market. PWC polled over 1000 online users in the US, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. I’m still reading it myself, but I’m intrigued by some of the results.

Chinese e-reader price war is heating up

Digitimes are reporting that Hanvon, MReader, and other Chinese e-reader manufacturers have lowered their prices for the domestic Chinese market. Waterstones lower price on 5″ Elonex e-reader

Waterstones announced today that they’ve dropped the price of the Elonex 500EB e-reader to £79.99. This now makes the 5″ e-reader the second cheapest available in the UK, after that of the Imagin 5″, which is being sold by Waterstone’s competitor, WH Smith, for £64.99.
