I wanted to call attention to a recent announcement from Scribd that didn’t get a lot of visibility. The service, called Scribd Stats, provides authors/publishers with an assortment of information on who’s reading their content, what pieces they’re reading, etc.

From the press release: Video game strategy guide publisher KillerGuides has announced using a social digital rights management (DRM) solution as alternative to digital copy protection measures. Game guide downloads from their website now have personal details of customers added on the fly, but come without any further digital restrictions.
